It simply offers a lopsided view of the person?s full character. A lady may appear respectful and so sweet each time you see her but that is just an infinitesimal fraction of her whole personality.

You will be doing great harm to your marriage if you now begin to compare such a man or lady to your spouse. Your wife is a stakeholder in your life and you are stuck with each other 52 weeks of the year. You are together during the good, bad and ugly. You obviously don?t expect your spouse to be all smiles, sweet and angelic all through the year!

Note the following about comparison traps
1.??? Your spouse is one with you and it is your responsibility to accept, love and respect him or her
2.??? When you start comparing your spouse to another, you start welcoming feelings of dissatisfaction.
3.??? Understand that just like you admire others apart from your spouse, your spouse also goes through the same. Communication and openness is therefore important.
4.??? When you are married, you can admire but not desire
5.??? People are different and no two people on earth will behave the same way
6.??? Learn to be thankful and appreciative of your spouse. Accept your spouse
7.??? Understand that your spouse is God?s best for you
8.??? Your marriage with your spouse is a necessary journey to becoming a better person.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I have the best spouse. He/she is ideal for me and good for me to fulfill my purpose.

PRAYERS FOR THE DAY
Father, help to always lovingly accept my spouse. I ask for grace to patiently stay with my spouse on our way to becoming better.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

We wouldn't put ourselves in the same class with or compare ourselves to those who are bold enough to make their own recommendations. Certainly, when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves to themselves, they show how foolish they are.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Write out all the good qualities of your spouse. You will be amazed at what God has given you!
